"Long-term heart damage likely in some Covid-19 survivors, review finds
From CNN Health’s Maggie Fox

Long-term heart damage is likely in some survivors of Covid-19, a team of doctors reported Monday.

The doctors found that Covid-19 dysregulates the way the blood clots, and damages the lungs and their ability to process fresh oxygen into the blood, they wrote in a review for the American College of Cardiology.

Patients who have had to undergo ventilation -- and the medicated sedation that goes along with that --- are most in danger, wrote Dr. Sean Pinney of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and his colleagues.

The doctors noted that about a third of survivors of the closely-related severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) virus in 2003-2004 had persistently abnormal lung function a year after illness, with lower exercise capacity -- and Covid-19 appears to damage the heart even more.

A second study noted a kind of damage to the heart known as myocardial injury in about a quarter of coronavirus patients.

A third study in the same journal noted that patients with excess body fat, uncontrolled blood sugar, high blood pressure and high cholesterol face much higher risks of complications from coronavirus. Many Americans have all four problems.

"The condition known as "long Covid" is having a debilitating effect on people's lives, and stories of being left exhausted after even a short walk are now common.

So far, the focus has been on saving lives during the pandemic, but there is now a growing recognition that people are facing long-term consequences of a Covid infection.

Yet even basic questions - such as why people get long Covid or whether everyone will fully recover - are riddled with uncertainty.

What is long Covid?

There is no medical definition or list of symptoms shared by all patients - two people with long Covid can have very different experiences.

However, the most common feature is crippling fatigue.

Others symptoms include: breathlessness, a cough that won't go away, joint pain, muscle aches, hearing and eyesight problems, headaches, loss of smell and taste as well as damage to the heart, lungs, kidneys and gut.

Mental health problems have been reported including depression, anxiety and struggling to think clearly.

....It can utterly destroy people's quality of life. "My fatigue was like nothing I've experienced before," said one sufferer Jade Gray-Christie,

Long Covid is not just people taking time to recover from a stay in intensive care. Even people with relatively mild infections can be left with lasting and severe health problems.

I am quite sure that even if some of the dunces in here admitted that what you say is true, they would attribute the long term effects to wearing those damn

masks.

"MrUnknown we are shutting down to avoid having unnecessary number of cases which will eventually and in the case of COVID exponentially lead to unnecessary number of positive cases needing hospital care, leading to hospitals being overrun, leading to an unnecessary number of deaths, that's why we are shutting down. That's for anyone whose been leaving under a rock the last 11 or so months we do not want to see what happened early on in Wuhan, Italy, Spain, Belgium, UK, USA. It's a combination of avoiding unnecessary deaths and limiting people catching the virus.

But hey if you think that chances of surviving are good and the long term effects are nothing to worry about, you can put your money where your mouth is, give a few family members/loved ones for your cause, your mother, an aunt, a kid, a cousin and a friend to catch COVID and see how they fare in the short term as well as the long run.

If they make it roughly 20% will have mental health issues

Then there is also the effects of those who have mild cases of COVID who are having persistent inflammation of the heart months down the road, that will eventually lead to shorter lives. Which all these facts are lost on you "Stable Genius's".

As well some of you are sadly mistaken if you think the current spike we are seeing is going away anytime soon, the hospitals in Ontario are already over 80% capacity in ICU beds and it's going to get worse before it gets better."

Charlie Russell, 27, is one of an estimated 600,000 people with post-Covid illness, a condition that may give an insight into ME

Welcome to the thread, Nostradumass!

It's much, much, much more likely you'll be suffering long term negative health effects from your alleged covid19 infections.

I am 60 and had the covid twice, didnt go to the doctor and survived.

The vast majority of 60 year olds survive covid. So What? You're here to tell us how lucky & fortunate you were not to die? lol

I was smart enough via safety precautions not to get infected in the first place, as opposed to being a covidiot & playing Russian Roulette with my life.

This thread isn't about survival from death. It's about the many people who were infected & the health problems they're having.

They will hafta kill me before I take the Vac, but then again I aint as stupid as you are!

Conspiracy nut job theorist, i presume.

yes your odds of dying to covid are ridiculously low and nearly as low as dying of the vaccine

first, that's absolutely not true. Very very few people die from vaccines (apart from those from az vaccines) , definitely not the 50 deaths per day in canada from covid.

Also, it is not just dying from covid.
Many did not die but suffered a lot during their spells with covid.

Those who were in icu but survived could have permanent lung damage, getting short of breath with minimal activities. Some have permanent kidney damage requiring dialysis, while others had stroke and blood clots (yes, much higher chance than from az vaccines).
And i have seen many young people who had persistent fatique and continued to cough their lungs out weeks after covid.

No one wants that, and it can be easily be prevented by the vaccine.
